Swedish Arrival Attached to U.S. Feature

Deborah (Hailee) Araya to play principal role in

The Black Messiah Murders

<Tuesday, Feb 12, 2008 - Dallas, TX>  Sweden is know for its export of sultry Scandinavian actresses to the international silver screen in the likes of Ingrid Bergman and Maud Adams. Recently cast in the lead female role of Serena Wilson in THE BLACK MESSIAH MURDERS, HAILEE ARAYA has broken the stereotype of the blonde Nordic bombshells that oft head directly to the James Bond films.

The newly arrived 19 year-old Swedish born actress and writer is of Ethiopian parentage and has already garnered international attention.  In addition to the American crime/drama/historical feature film, she has been recently cast in a supporting role in the upcoming  Australian Sci-Fi Thriller Antigravity (2008), and is cast for the female lead roles in the European films: “AWA” (2009), and  “TELL HIM IT'S LOVE” (scheduling).

Exuberant, to say the least, Hailee has written four screenplays (two purchased) and is a student of the marshal arts and a painter with two vernisages of her 26 painting. Ms. Araya is also a music artist with two "SKÅNE DIRECT" first runner up awards for her compositions.

The Black Messiah Murders tracks the events of the 1969 raid on Black Panther Party members in Chicago, as well as J. Edgar Hoover's domestic spying and social interdiction programs. The theme explores the murders of Fred Hampton and Mark Clark, including related operations of Hoover's notorious COINTELPRO program. The film expected to be one of the most controversial releases this Fall is scheduled to shoot from early spring to early Summer in San Antonio and Chicago.
